Voting for the Official Miss World Guyana 2017 – Miss Photogenic is now open.

The general public is invited to vote for their favorite MWG 2017 Finalist’s visual depiction and interpretation of self-love. The general public is invited to share their favorite photo along with a positive note on the importance of self-love and the role it plays in the development of our young women. The General Public must feel moved, connected and captivated by the Finalists photo, they are compelled to vote for without the need for a name or background info on the image. Each Finalist photo is intended to convey a message on self-love the photo should speak for itself by connecting in a motivating and captivating way to promote self-love and all the positive elements of it.

INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTE:

  2. Only one vote per day. (Vote again every 24 hours)

  4. Voting will close at noon (12:00hrs) on June 24, 2017

14 SEMI-FINALIST SELECTED TO COMPETE IN THE MISS WORD GUYANA 2017 COMPETITION

14 Semifinalists vying for the Miss Guyana 2017 title in June and ultimately a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Guyana at the Miss World competition are: Ashana Carrington, Nitifah Thompson, Alieca James, Sharda Pramdeo, Hemwantie Seodat, Ariell Ghanie, Nikesia Hussain, Thamesha Watson, Maria Fletcher, Vena Mookram, Manisha Mai-Lee Wong, Crystal Wills, Delisha Wright, & Joelly Valentine.

 




On April 30th, 14 Semifinalists will present their platform and project to the Public at the first ever Beauty with a Purpose Fair. Adding to this, Semifinalists will also kickstart a shared national campaign dubbed “Self-Love GY” within the month of April after which, the top 10 finalists will be selected and will each be appointed to represent one (1) of the country’s 10 administrative regions.

Miss Guyana is a platform to enable personal and professional growth of our young women in addition to their promotion of beauty and talent. Participation in the events afford young women the opportunity to raise awareness on issues and causes affecting their communities.

JUDGING THE EVENTS: Every young woman vying for the Miss Guyana title is expected to compete against herself in an effort to become her best self –well rounded youth leader and role model. Once selected, the Top 10 Finalists will undergo a series of personal development challenges which includes Sports/Fitness, Multimedia, Talent, Top Model and Beauty with a Purpose. Each will be judged according to three scaled levels: One (1) being low, three (3) being average and five (5) being Excellent. At the end of each challenge, the finalists will be interviewed in order to further analyze the growth and strength of their communication skills.
